Founder & Executive Director
Nasseam James is a licensed clinical social worker, perinatal therapist, full-spectrum doula, and parenting coach with over 18 years of experience serving children and families through nonprofit, government, and community-based work. She founded the Center for Perinatal Mental Health and Family Wellness to close the gaps she witnessed in maternal and infant mental health — particularly for BIPOC families.
Through her work, Nasseam integrates clinical expertise, cultural humility, and lived experience to advocate for holistic, trauma-informed care. She is deeply committed to breaking generational cycles and building safe, healing-centered spaces where families can thrive.
